Bruce made the point that it is essential for teachers to undersand why they are using computers in the classroom. I think this is a valid idea that is often over looked. It is essential that teachers ensure they link the use of ICT to the appropriate syllabus outcomes. It is also improtant that teachers have clear reasons for using digital technology over other forms of learning. One way of ensuring this is by providing tasks that allow students to interact or create things that they would not be able to create usin other means. For instance while students may be able to create a normal storyboard with images and text on paper, they need computer software to be able to create storyboards with moving images or sound effects.
